Dr Timilehin Aderinola received a B.Eng. degree (Hons.) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and a Master's in Computer Science from the Federal University of Technology Akure, Nigeria, in 2012 and 2017, respectively. He obtained a PhD in Information Technology from Multimedia University, Malaysia in 2022, where he was trained in machine learning and computer vision under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Tee Connie. Then, in April 2022, Dr Aderinola joined the Insight Centre for Data Analytics, University College Dublin as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, using computer vision techniques to analyse human movement.
As a NeuroInsight Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow, Dr Aderinola's research focus is to analyse the mobility data of patients with rare neurological conditions such as Parkinson's disease and ataxia in order to understand, predict, and prevent falls among this population. Dr Aderinola's main research skills and interests are in machine learning and applying new sensor and computer vision technology to analyse human movement.
