Biography
Dr Megha Gupta completed her Masters and PhD in Mathematics from Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, India, where she gained expertise in the field of Machine Learning and Fuzzy Set Theory under the supervision of Prof. Balasubramaniam Jayaram.

Her journey into interdisciplinary research has now led her to the School of Computer Science at University College Dublin, as a NeuroInsight, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow working under the guidance of Dr. Ruihai Dong and Dr, Daniela Tropea. As part of Megha's fellowship, her primary objective is to develop a robust diagnostic and prognostic pipeline tailored specifically for rare neurological disorders, mainly focusing on Rett Syndrome. By leveraging advanced machine learning methodologies, such as Novelty Detection and Few-shot Learning, she hopes to bridge the gap between limited data availability and innovative healthcare solutions, offering hope for more accurate diagnoses, insightful prognoses, and effective treatments for individuals affected by rare neurological disorders. Additionally, the project aims to raise awareness around rare neurological conditions promoting understanding, empathy, and support within the medical community and larger society.
