Dr Hamidah Ghani completed her BSc in Plant Biotechnology at the National University of Malaysia and her MSc in Bioinformatics from University of Malaya, Malaysia. Dr. Ghani worked as a Bioinformatician at Novocraft Technologies in Malaysia before earned her PhD in Genomics Data Science at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). Her PhD research is dedicated to gene discovery using large-scale genomics data (over 3,000 trios) in the epilepsies.
Dr. Hamidah Ghani is actively involved in several consortia, served as a data analyst for Solve-RD (now will be integrated into ERDERA), and the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) data analyst committees. She is currently based at the FutureNeuro Research Centre for Translational Brain Science (RCSI), where her work focuses on developing novel diagnostic approaches in the epilepsies using long-read sequencing and optical genome mapping.
