Health economics of genomics in Ireland

The Health Service Executive in Ireland has recently published a strategy for accelerating genetic and genomic medicine in the public healthcare system. Implementation of this strategy will transform how genomics is integrated to the care of patients in Ireland. However, economic assessments of genomic medicine in an Irish context are lacking and information from such work could help guide effective implementation at the national level.

FutureNeuro can provide access to clinicians and hospitals where genomics is currently being deployed, and where it will grow through implementation of the national strategy. This is particularly the case in relation to care for neurological conditions. Insight can provide support on analytics relating to healthcare economics. Collectively, NeuroInsight would make an excellent environment for a Fellowship focused on healthcare economics of genomics in Ireland.
