Biography

Aoife Morrin is Associate Professor in the School of Chemical Sciences. She has expertise in analytical and physical chemistry and applies this to developing new wearable sensing platforms that can harvest biochemical information from the body. For instance, she is interested in understanding more about the ‘volatilome’ of the human body, in particular the volatile gases that come off the skin and what they tell us about our health. Wearable sensors can exploit these gases for future monitoring of biochemical processes in the body as a way to monitor health and well-being.

She is interested in hearing from Fellows with expertise in chemistry/analytical chemistry who would be interested in using instrumental analysis (ie GC-MS) to study the composition of the volatilome in the presence of neurological disease.
