Mary Cannon

Mary Cannon (RCSI and Beaumont Hospital) is Professor of Psychiatric Epidemiology and Youth Mental Health and consultant psychiatrist at Beaumont Hospital Dublin.

Her research interest is in identifying early risk and protective factors for later mental illness, particularly psychosis. Professor Cannon currently holds an ERC Consolidator Award.

Her exceptional publication record has earned her place on Clarivate’s Highly Cited Researcher List (top 1% by citations in her field). She has served on Irish governmental taskforces on youth mental health and has roles as Vice-Chair of the Academic Faculty in the College of Psychiatrists in Ireland. Professor Cannon strengthens our clinician-scientist pool, embeds a therapeutics focus within digital health, and incorporates excellence in mental health research.
